When we first started blogging back in 2013, we had a really hard time determining what we would write about. Our initial thoughts were to write about how great our software was and all the things that our customers had to say.  After all, we loved our software and our customers did too.  Following a period of some real soul-searching,  we came to the conclusion that that approach would be pretty shallow and not really benefit our customers or our readers.  Instead, we decided that our blog should be a resource for security company managers and owners who were interested in operating more efficiently and learning about selling security guard services.

The first few articles I wrote were really tough.  I often thought “Who am I to tell anyone about selling security guard services?”  But the more I wrote the easier it became.  I realized that although I hadn’t sold hundreds of millions of dollars of contracts, I had definitely seen more than my fair share of success. I further realized that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of professionals in the security guard industry who had little to no experience selling security guard services.  It became obvious that the lessons that I’d learned from my successes and my failures would undoubtedly benefit those professionals.

I was and still am humbled by the outpouring of support that OfficerReports.com’s Newsletter, Security Guard Services Magazine, and blog receives from our readers.  In fact, many of the conversations that I have had with our readers motivated me to combine some of our best blog articles into a free ebook that is available for download HERE.
